The addition of the two floor created seven new rental units. The newly created units are of different sizes to meet the needs of different groups of residents with different needs and uses. This provides new housing in the centre of Munich for both singles and families.<br>The existing building, a plastered brick house, was renovated to make it more energy efficient. In order to meet today\u2018s standards of sustainability and efficiency, the extension consists of a wood-steel hybrid construction, which can also be seen as an advantageous construction in terms of its ability to be prefabricated.<br>While developing the exterior, priority was given to minimising the amount of sealed surface area.
